Betlém in Hlinsko: Exhibition of Shrovetide Door-to-door Processions and Masks from the Hlinsko Area

Shrovetide door-to-door village processions and masks from the Hlinsko area were inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010. The exhibition in house no. 362 presents traditional costumes and typical masks, as well as the atmosphere of door-to-door processions, with a large number of photographs and a short documentary film. Important documents accompanying the inscription on the UNESCO list are also on display.
All information, including the documentary film, is presented in Czech and English.

Information on services:
The car park for cars and coaches (free and for a fee) is around 100 metres from the site of the Betlém conservation area.
There are restaurants and cafés in the Betlém conservation area and in the surrounding area.
Facilities for children (baby changing table) can be found in the public WC building opposite the ticket office.
A bicycle stand can be found opposite the ticket office next to the public WC building.

Prohibitions and restrictions:
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the buildings at the Betlém conservation area.
Dogs may be taken into the buildings at the Betlém conservation area on a leash free of charge.
The outside areas at the open air museum are fully accessible. The interior of building no. 362 is restricted (doorsteps, stairs) – access for the disabled is not provided here.
Photography and film recording is permitted without the use of flash photography and tripods for your own non-commercial use.
