Betlém in Hlinsko: Craftsmen’s Cottages

This tour route will give you the chance of visiting period buildings showing the lives and work of small craftsmen typical of the Hlinsko area in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. You can take a look at the workshops and cottages of a cottage weaver, a toy maker and a cobbler. The unique workshop of a maker of hand-cut files and rasps has also been open since April 2016.

Information on services:
The car park for cars and coaches (free and for a fee) is around 100 metres from the site of the Betlém conservation area.
There are restaurants and cafés in the Betlém conservation area and in the surrounding area.
Facilities for children (baby changing table) can be found in the public WC building opposite the ticket office.
A bicycle stand can be found opposite the ticket office next to the public WC building.

Prohibitions and restrictions:
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the buildings at the Betlém conservation area.
Dogs may be taken into the buildings at the Betlém conservation area on a leash free of charge.
The outside areas at the open air museum are fully accessible. Access for the disabled is limited in museum interiors (doorsteps, stairs).
Photography and film recording is permitted without the use of flash photography and tripods for your own non-commercial use.
